Make it to Makers Faire

May 22nd, 2011

I attended the local Makers Faire event yesterday, http://makerfaire.com/. What a great day. When did “making” become so mainstream? Or is it just this wonderful area of the country I live in? There were some really interesting things to explore – from software, compost, to robots. I’d recommend two days to see it all, if you have the time and energy. And spend time (buy some things!) in the Maker Faire retail tent. I stared at the Arduino kits for some time, they were selling fast. How awesome is it that so many people understand (or want to understand) open source electronic prototyping platforms? My next project? A garage built longboard. Once I can wheel around again, that’s my first project. Get down there today!
